Okay, so seeing as I havn’t been on here for awhile, I figured a good occasion to write about is that I aquired a new dog last Thur. night. See it all started at work, there was a dog running around looking for her “people”, and when I got home it came up with Dawn (my roommate), and she said that JJ (one of the instructors at the college-she’s a year behind me, so she’s almost done!) had been bugging everyone at the barn today, trying to find a home for a dog. He and his wife Juile, live a ways out of town and they had a dog dumped out there a week ago. Seeing as he was so sweet they wanted to keep him, because he likes to follow them around and go watch Julie ride out in the feilds. Well, they also happen to have a litter of wild kittens out at there place under a shed. So, one thing led to another and the dog got to playing with one of the kittens, and somewhere along the line the kitten grabbed onto his face. Don’t know what happened after that, but the kitten ended up suffering a broken back and JJ had to go home at lunch and take care of the kitten (yes, this is the country, and yes, he shot the kitten, but it would have been way more tramatic for the kitten to be taken to the vet, it had never been handled). So, Dawn tells me this, and I make the mistake of asking what type of dog it is. Well, of corse it has to be a heeler, and I have a horriably bad soft spot for heelers! Long story short, I went and picked him up. BAD ME!!
Well, he’s a sweetie, pretty shy, never been on a leash or in a house, and he’s about a year old. So, him and Happy (my other heeler) just love each other! So, basically I got myself another dog. But it’s been good, he’s coming around, he’s still really shy, but he’s curious and he’s smart (then, again he is a heeler and they got the brains!).
